a festive week it was—the benefit concert; the mass meeting
(opening session); the scholarship competition; the gala
concert; numerous other concerts, including those presented by
the Collegiate Young Artists, Youth and Juniors; piano, voice,
and winds master classes; an opera performance; workshops for
adults, collegiates, youth, and juniors; an awards banquet; a
closing luncheon; business meetings; plus countless informal
gatherings of old and new friends in Chicago, “our hometown.”
