Since 1919, the National Association of Negro Musicians, Inc. (NANM) has championed African American music through education, performance, scholarship, and advocacy. For over a century, we have uplifted generations of musicians, composers, and educators — and we’re just getting started.

Join Us in Detroit!  From July 12–17, 2025, NANM will host its National Convention in the iconic music city of Detroit, Michigan—a vibrant celebration of Black musical excellence, past, present, and future. The week will feature performances, workshops, and inspiring gatherings of artists and music lovers from across the nation.
