The National Association of Negro Musicians, Inc. invites you to apply for the 2020 Scholarship Competition. This year's competition is for piano. Contestants will first compete on the local then the regional level. Based on these competitions, each region will send its winning contestant to compete at the national level of the competition to be held on July 12, 2020 at the 101st Annual NANM National Convention in Philadelphia, PA. The required repertoire embraces the works of European and American composers while highlighting the contributions of Black composers.
National First Prize $5000
National Second Prize $4000
National Third Prize $3000
Two Encouragement Prizes $500 each
Applications, along with the $50 application fee and copy of photo identification, are due no later than January 15, 2020. All contestants must be 18-30 years old. For repertoire requirements, complete eligibility, competition rules, please reference the documents above.
